The light sorting module is an economical solution for assembling orders in e-commerce and other industries, when prefabricated batches of goods must be sorted into individual customer orders. The assembly of a batch of goods is the process of simultaneously collecting many orders each time they pass through the warehouse. This optimizes operations with a large number of inventory items and long assembly routes. Batch assembly is convenient when products and orders are small, which allows pickers to stack them in one cart. After assembling the batch, the products must be sorted and divided into separate orders. Traditional picking processes use trolleys that are moved to packing stations. There, items are sorted manually by reading typeset labels, packing lists, or other paper lists. This takes a long time and errors may occur.
If your products have barcode labels, the light sorting module provides the fastest and most accurate sorting. With this system, the operator simply takes the item and scans the label with a barcode scanner. The button lights up in the cell where you want to place this item. The object is placed in a cell, a button is pressed on the light module to confirm the action. The process is repeated until all orders are completed.
When the order in the cell is formed, the order assembly confirmation button lights up on the opposite side of the module. Pressing this button confirms the completion of the order that can be issued for packaging, and frees the cell for a new order.
Also, light modules can be installed at the exits of the sorting conveyor, which allows you to increase the ability to assemble a large number of orders.
